These magnificent hand made scarves were displayed at the ART WORKS show in Guelph on Nov 1st. I find them to be a treasure. Available in many many colours . What do you think?

the most beautiful bras

I will not go into great detail of how I discovered this store. But I can tell you its an understatement to say "its a bit out of the way." Honestly the inventory of bras is on par with the finest Lingerie stores in North America. And that includes Rodeo Drive, and Worth Ave.

If you like pretty undies,you must go to Premier Jour. Ally the young lady who took good care of me, could still be showing me more and more,if I didn't say stop. They have lingerie, bras, panties, body shapers, bustiers, bridal lingerie, robes and sleepwear........... 431 Rogers Rd , 5 or 6 blocks west of Dufferrin/south. of Eglington

Simply Yours, a shop with impeccable style.

Imagine me saying this " the globe trotter", about a store that is in Toronto. Quite affordable and really fashion forward seperates with European flare. I can walk in any time and within minutes find a super top and bottom ready to go. Whoever makes their inventory selection gets full marks for effort.

The sidewalk sale started today 19/06 (ends Sunday 22/06 ) I found a black multiple teared boot length skirt with a matching sleeveless lycra top, for grand total of $40.00.(reg. easily $100) This is well worth your time.

Lots of fabulous tempting sportswear in the store. A must see.

In my humble opinion there are very few places in and around Toronto that one could buy an amazing pair of Jeans. If you want the best selection at least 200 styles to chose from, go to "Over the Rainbow" in Yorkville. Joel and his staff will keep you busy trying on jeans until your worn out. He scours for the best fit, and everything aux courant.

the best deals of course are in and around boxing day ( when most retailers do more business in one day than all year) so be prepared for the crowd.

In business since Jeans have become fashion, 30+ years. Must be doing something right. 101 Yorkville Ave. 416-967-7448.

.incidentally if your wondering what to give your kid, nephew, son in law, anyone under 40 --for getting an A..? I'm sure a gift from Over the rainbow will be well received.

So I found an Argyle sweater, a Cashmere vest, a cardigan, and various vintage ski sweaters, all for the low low price of nothing.
It's always good to rifle through your parents old clothes (whether they're alive or dead). You never know what they have that has recently come back in style.
I would advise it to all.

In other news, I found a shirt I bought 2 years ago and had lost. Looking through an old wardrobe is often better then shopping.
All the fun, the clothes generally fit, and there are no pricetags.

To describe this nirvana of shopping you must stay calm and collected.I actually only went to three shops in three hours. But to choose the three one needs to use strategy. Why? cause that in itself is a huge time saver. There are two Tangier Outlet Centers with over 125 stores,the likes of Anne Klein, Coach, Brooks Brothers etcetera. Very difficult to visit them all. You can overdose on shopping here.

On a rainy day,I bought: gladiator sandals for my daughter, two plates at Villeroy and Bosh and at Dana Buchman I got a black twin set with accordion pleated sleeves with matching palazo pants, a cap sleeve 6 inch cowl collar sweater,& with a handkerchief hem eyelet lace skirt in black. Est voila my budget is over. All at 80% off....

I did my valentines day shopping at Lemor at Bayview Village. It was really fun. They carry new and exciting clothes.Not being a size nine was a challenge, but I succeeded just the same. If your into funky things, worth your while to check it out.Staff very patient and will work with you.

They have no mirrors in the fitting room. Like other stores this gimmick is to let other customers fan approvals? In any case I am delighted with what I bought, I feel twenty years younger. And this time of year everything was on sale.

They will be opening a store soon I believe on Queen st.

This is the most magnificent dress shop in this city. Really the only spot to look for anything great. Of course it is the only formal you'll buy for a few years. For that special occasion weddings, and graduation, they have beaded gowns and very black and very sexy coctail dresses.Betsy Johnson, BCBG, and Sue Wong are just some of the well known labels that they carry. Be sure to visit both floors as the inventory is very different on each floor.

Do bring a credit card that has plenty room on it.

( incidentally if your bigger than a size 12 call in advance I don't believe thay carry anything bigger than a 12.)

Winter Boots, for some big feet!

After much rumaging at TALL GIRL, only to buy a pair of boots that hurt my feet and ended up in a box in the corner of my apartment, I dubbed the winter boot search hopeless.

I have continued wearing my running shoes around in the snow, sleet and salt, which they are not designed for.

All I had been thinking was....why can't New Balance design and sell winter boots!

I have size 11.5 narrow (2A) shoes.

I ended up spending the weekend in Westport, a town just 40 mins north of Kingston. After heading into a store that sells everything, called 'The Village Green" I stumbled upon a sweet surprise.

A pair of winter boots that not only fit, but were synthetic!!!

(I'm a vegetarian)

AND they were on sale. So the first pair of boots I bought at TALL GIRL were $100, and I wore them twice. These boots were black "Columbia Brand" and so comfortable and they fit!!!!!!
Only $68.

Amazing.

Immediately after this purchase I went out onto the frozen lake and make snow people and had a snow fight with my boyfriend, because my feet could stay warm and pain free in these brand new boots!!

Hurray!

Jones is a collection of serious matched pieces, knitwear, blouses, pants, skirts and blazers. There is usually a more relaxed sportswear collection offered as well. In my opinion this is a generous fit and is targeted to a conservative customer over 40. The quality as a rule is excellent. The pieces will outlive you. You will always look professional. I have at least five suits in my cupboard, that would take me from work to party any time. The Bay I believe offers a solid collection.

Watch for sales for you to get the best value for the money

Olsen is a collection of clothing designed in Germany and produced in a variety of countries off shore. It is aimed at woman who have a flair for European style.I am sure that it is available in at least 100 countries.Generally the quality is very high and is targeted to sophisticated women. Personally I find the fit generous. I have been wearing Olsen for over twenty years for sure. The pieces work from year to year. You can mix pieces that are easily 10 years old. Some of the styling is quite fashion forward. The basic pieces will last you for a very long time.

The Bay carries their collection, and they have Olsen stores in Fairview Mall,Bayview Village, and on Bloor Street.

You'll want to watch for price reductions typically at the end of the season. DEC/JUNE where you will get the best value for your money.
